GDC alert to dentists‚ two very important deadlines!!!!
The General Dental Council has sent out kind reminders to all dentists reminding them to pay their Annual Retention Fee (ARF) and to make a Continuing Professional Development (CDP) declaration. 12 November 2013, the ARF collection period for dentists started along with the 2013 CPD declaration period. 31 December 2013 is the all-important date by which the ARF of £576 (and £72 specialty fee where registered) for the 2014 registration year in order to remain on the register. Dentists whom fail to make the payment by this date will be removed from the GDC register and will no longer to be permitted to work in the UK. And any dentists wishing to re-join will need to submit an application, which may take up to 10 working days to assess. 28 January 2014 is the date by which Dentists are required to submit CPD declaration for the year 2013. Payments can be made by direct debit, direct via the eGDC website (www.eGDC-uk.org) or by using the automated payment line on 0800 197 4610. The ARF automated payment line is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, until midnight on 31 December 2013. The fee will be collected on the 5th of December 2013 via direct debit for those who have set this up, please remember to update your card details if they have expired or if you have change banks.
